Green grass will be here before you know it! I can't wait :)
I was just going through some old pictures to get printed...I have made it a point to add a few of my kiddo's pictures to each order so that I can get caught up with my own pictures. I am over 2 years behind on printing pictures for my albums of my kiddo's!
These are a few of my baby when he was 4 weeks old using some new textures. (he is now 8 months old)

I am back from my trip. (I'll post some pics later from the trip & I have a funny thing to tell you about!)

I went out the other day, just to see the beauty of our winter right now (and to get to use my new camera & lens...especially outdoors)!. It literally looked like a winter wonderland. Coeur d'Alene is so beautiful! I can't believe I live here! I LOVE it here...(even with the 10' of snow) can't imagine living anywhere else in the world! We Idaho'ns are truly blessed to live here :) more pics later...

PS...I lost 6.4 lbs this past week and Amy lost 5.4 lbs!!! wahoo!!! Isn't that awesome :) But, if you know Amy (psst, I 'm whispering) tell her, she can't go celebrate at Olive Garden :)

I can't believe how fast 2008 went by. It was a great year...I just want to say thank you to all of my clients over the past year. I look forward to 2009 :)

Yes, I am one of those who sets "new year's resolutions"...so, here they are (I can't believe I am telling the world what they are, YIKES :)
1. I joined weight watchers with my best friend Amy, yesterday. Yep, we already went to one meeting :) It's awesome! ? !
2. I would like to work a little less this year so that I can spend more quality time with my family. After the last 3 months, I really miss them... My kids are such a wonderful gift to me...the best gift I have ever been given.
3. I would like to be more dedicated and make it a priority above all else to have a daily devotional time. It amazes me that when I spend even just a little time every morning in the word, of how much better my day goes! I truly owe everything to him...I am so grateful for his grace!

My friend Crissy just let me borrow her studio lights...so, I played around with it today (in my almost-newly finished basement :). This seriously is the 1st time I have even touched a studio light. So, in the eyes of someone who knows studio lights, there is probably a ton wrong with them. These were taken with 1 light setup, with no metering, no custom wb and no reflector (all of which I would like to use in the future with studio lights). I am so excited to be using these...especially since my baby B is growing so fast - it is way to cold to be trying to capture pics of him using natural light outdoors. Thank you Crissy for letting me use these! I appreciate it so much!!! I also wanted to use my new orange chair. I cannot wait to use this in the summer, in the middle of a field of grass! Isn't it FABULOUS! I love props like these :)

I am going out of town next week for a photography workshop. One of the things I will be learning is studio lighting. I am really looking forward to it!

...haven't done many pictures indoors, I usually always use natural light. So, I will be playing around with it alot this winter. Gotta go play "santa" now :)

The Photographer's Prayer

I found this the other day on a blog and just thought it was perfect. I pray before every session...I always ask him to help me capture that perfect moment...I truly believe that we can do all things through him (it says so in scripture) and I always ask for him to work through me. I have my own words that I use, but never do they sound like this. (I am so happy that he knows my heart, because I have never thought I say the "right" words in prayer) It is beautiful. :)

Dear God,
As I bring my subject into focus and prepare to make each portrait,
never let me forget that I’m creating treasures for some family,
a keepsake for loved ones.
Make me sensitive to the qualities and virtues of others,
that I may draw out into the light, the beautiful radiant belongings of their hearts.
Help me, oh Lord, to be an artist,
collecting the beauty of every soul,
the glow of youth, the wisdom of age, the gentleness,
the laughter or tears of each life that is precious in thy sight.

Ok...so, I really missed my blog the last few days. It was always so fun to see who posted a comment each day. It was always so encouraging to me! So, with a few upgrades and a few more kinks to work out...we are back to blogging! :) It's great to be back :) Looking forward to your posts again...

With Thanksgiving coming in 1 week, yes 1 week...Can you believe it! There really is so much for us to be thankful for. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful family...God has blessed me with 2 sweet, beautiful children! I am so happy that "home school" is going much better! I am so blessed to have a job that I love so much! And, blessed to have such awesome friends and clients!

These 2 littles girls are so precious!!! "B" looks like Shirley Temple! She is so beautiful...look at the curls :) Her little sister gave me a workout! When kiddos are 18-24 month range...I usually plan for dancing, yelling, acting out beyond my imagination :) I always wonder what I look like in the eyes of an adult...ok, I don't think I wanna know. I guess you just do what you gotta do! It always nice and helpful when the parents are relaxed (especially dad) and they totally were!

They had about a 3 hour notice for this session...I had a rescheduled session on this day and thought what the heck...I'd just give them a call to see if they wanted to take this appt instead of waiting...She literally had 3 hours to get ready for it! And she even went shopping before the appt! Dayna, you rock!
Haven't been able to work on your pics just yet...but, wanted to at least get a few sneak peaks done. Can't wait to work on all of them!

Ok...so, I am getting ready to purchase a ROCKING new camera. 21 megapixels baby!!!I am so excited :) It should be here sometime in December. So, that means I am needing to increase my session fees starting Jan 1st. Ok...This is soooooo precious to me!!! I usually work on proofing, orders, etc. everynight during the week till ? am.... My sweet, precious daughter got out of bed tonight while I was working and left this on the top of the stairs for me.... When I saw this, it made me cry! I then went in her room and gave her a big hug, and told her how much she meant to me!!! Hug your kids today, alot :) They are truly a gift.

Ione Lion's Club Train {Ione, WA}

I am getting ready to upgrade camera's again. I have a Canon 30D for sale for $500 (paid $969.95). I will also be selling my Canon 40D later on this year (probably in late October-November). Well, I haven't been able to post many sneak peaks (pretty much at all!) this whole summer. It has been very busy for me...a real challenge trying to keep up with everything.

I am completly booked for 2008. I have a waiting list for cancellations...if you would like to be on this list just give me a call or email. There is a possibility that I may do "mini" sessions in late October. (this will only be if I get caught up with my work).

Our good friend, Chris Waddell, recently found out that he has stomach cancer. He will begining chemo/radiation and then surgery. Summer 2008

So...it has been a very busy summer so far. Mr. B is now 8 weeks old...I am still in the T-Mobile nightmare (that's been about a 10 hour a week PT job for the last few weeks). I have also been back to work on pictures again for the last month. I actually went back to taking pics about 4 weeks sooner than I had originally planned. It has been alot of fun, very refreshing. I am a little tired, especially staying up to 1 am to edit pictures...but it is all worth it! I have gotten to meet some awesome kiddos and parents! I am looking forward to meeting new clients and seeing old ones in the next few months...I can squeeze in a few more appointments for 2008 - so if you haven't made your appt yet...need to do it soon!

I just finished reading the book "The Shack". After having about 20 people or so ask me if I had read it yet...saying it was a must read! It is definitely a MUST READ! I am not a big reader. However, there were times that I could hardly put the book down. I literally just had to sit for about a half hour or so after finishing it yesterday and try to remember all of the things that I liked so much about the book. I walked away thinking that for now on...I will judge less, show love more and forgive everyone! As soon as I finish reading Dr. Sears "All about Vaccines" (Baby has shots coming soon and I have the dilema as to whether or not to vaccinate) I will be re-reading the shack. :O) Gotta go get it and read it ya'll!!!

Well, I have the afternoon to work a little on orders and editing...so off I go. Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer.

The other night I had the privilege of taking some pictures of my beautiful friend, Kelsi. As some as you may know, she has been fighting cancer this year (and she sure puts up a mighty fight:). She has and continues to be such an amazing inspiration to so many! If you need to be inspired today, please check out her blog. Everytime I read it, it brings tears to my eyes and reminds me what really matters in life. Isn't she beautiful!!! The Best Day of My Life
Today, when I awoke, I suddenly realized that this is the best day of my life, ever! There were times I wondered if I would make it to today; but I did! And because I did I'm going to celebrate!
Today, I'm going to celebrate what an unbelievable life I have had so far: the accomplishments, the many blessings, and yes, even the hardships because they have made me stronger.
I will go through this day with my head held high and a happy heart. I will marvel at God's seemingly simple gifts: the morning frost, the sun, the clouds, the tree's, the snow crystals, the rain, the birds. Today, none of these miraculous creatures will escape my notice.
Today, I will share my excitement for life with other people. I'll make someone smile. I'll go out of my way to perform an unexpected act of kindness for someone I don't even know. Today, I'll give a sincere compliment to someone who seems down. I'll tell a child how special he is, and I'll tell someone I love just how deeply I care for her and how much she means to me.
Today is the day I quit worrying about what I don't have and start being grateful for all the wonderful things God has already given me. I'll remember that to worry is just a waste of time because my faith in God, and His Divine Plan ensures everything will be just fine.
And tonight, before I go to bed, I'll go outside and raise my eyes to the heavens. I will stand in awe at the beauty of the stars and the moon, and I will praise God for these magnificent treasures.
As the day ends and I lay my head down on my pillow, I will thank the Almighty for the best day of my life. And I will sleep the sleep of a contented child, excited with expectation because I know that tomorrow will be the best day of my life, ever!

Well, after being induced twice (1st time failed) my baby boy is finally here. Five weeks before my due date I was told during an ultra sound that he was already 8lbs 5oz. and that he could possibly be almost 11 lbs if I went full term. So, I asked my doctor (his name is Dr. Tony Henneberg, the most wonderful doctor I have ever had....in case you need an OB doctor) when he could induce labor. We scheduled it on June 5th. After 12 hours in the hospital on patocin, nothing...baby Brandon was not ready. So, we tried it again the following Tuesday, June 10th and it worked. Had a wonderful day...my friends Amy, Tina and Jodi were there in the delivery room...as well as my mom, wonderful hubby and daughter were all with me the whole day. I had an epideral at about 1:00 pm and never felt a thing after that. I was told to start pushing at about 8:30 pm (still never feeling a thing) and had our beautiful baby boy at 9:28 pm. He weighed 9lbs 10oz. and was 21 inches. It was a great day...great friends, my wonderful family and a great doctor to share this magical moment. We sure had a lot of laughs!!! PS...One of my very best friends, Amy Waddington, took these pics when he was 4 days olds....she takes the most beautiful newborn pictures ever. If you need newborn pics you gotta call her!
God is so good :o)

The Book & Bean....now open!

The Book & Bean Coffee Shop & Book Store is now open. It is a wonderful place to meet other mommy friends and your kiddo's. They have a children's play area. Nice comfy couches nestled in front of a cozy fireplace...to hang out with your friends. They have also started Storybook Hour every Friday morning at 10:30. Owners, Deborah & Hunter Bried are such amazing people...gotta meet them...you will just love them :) I am so fortunate for meeting such wonderful people :) Oh, and they also have a conference room available for meetings, bible study, get togethers.... Stop by and see the store and my work on display :)

Well, the suspense is finally over. Yesterday we had the ultrasound done and there was no hiding going on whatsoever! It is definitely a boy. We are so excited! I think Marty was glowing when we left...and his phone wouldn't stop beeping with all of the text messages coming into his phone. L is also soooooo very happy. She has said all along that she wanted a brother.

I have already done some shopping for baby boy clothes. Stopped at Old Navy on my way home from the doctors last night and got some awesome deals on clothes for our new little baby. It was so cute this morning....I came upstairs this morning after working on my puter for a little while and L had laid out all of the clothes all over the living room. She is so excited :) we have been wahooooing all morning. God is good!

Well, I just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year...and to thank all my clients for such an awesome 2007!!! It has been such an amazing year! I am so grateful for all of you...more than words can say. It has been so awesome to have had the opportunity to capture a few moments in your life....I appreciate the opportunity so much. I look so forward to 2008!

Just an FYI...coming soon. There is an AWESOME new Coffee Shop/Children's Book Store opening on January 11th. It is located next door to Hand's On Art on Government between Appleway and Kathleen. Some of my work will be on display through out the store. Check it out. I will take some pictures of the store as soon as they are open.... :o)

A Rough Weekend...

I just wanted to say thank you to all of my clients for being so understanding and patient. You are all so awesome. I have had to recently cancel all of my appointments for the weekend and the coming week. My Dad had another heart attack last week and has been in the hospital waiting to have triple bypass heart surgery. He hasn't been in very good health lately. So, I ask for prayer for him and his doctors this week while going through his surgery.

I haven't been able to work at all on orders and uploading proofs this last week. I will try to work some on pictures this week (orders that are still out and trying to get proofs uploaded to the site). Thanks so much for understanding. Take care and God bless.

Ok...so I have been CRAZY busy taking pics, working on pics this last month. Whewww. I have got one more Senior portraits to finish and back on editing family pics. Well, we pretty much lived at the City Park this weekend :) Started setting up bright and early on Friday morning at 6:00 am. It was a wonderful success. Lots of fun...seeing old friends, meeting new people, new clients, and just hanging out people-watching :) Thanks so much to my friends and family that helped out...Mom, Ashley, Theresa, Zach, Hope, Bill, Debbie, Kristin, Chris, Kimmer, Amy and of course my wonderful hubby and Lauren :) I couldn't of done it without you all! Lavender Festival

We went to the Lavender Festival on Saturday. A beautiful day. Lauren and I cut a bucket full of lavender, bundled it and gave it away to our neighbors, friends and family. (She thought we were selling it, she is too funny). She also got to do a little fishing in the pond. The fish would literally come over to the line and just sit there and look at it. She eventually caught a fish, with the assistance of the man working there :)
While we were cutting the lavender, Marty was taking pictures of bees, butterflies and bugs. A few weeks ago, I upgraded to a better camera...so, I gave him my old camera. He has a new hobby and is very passionate about it. He is very good at it too! I can definitely see a possible future partnership in photography. How cool would that be!!! I Love it!!! What is even cooler, I get to buy better photography equipment even sooner (because he wants the goods just as much as I do). Some pics of the day...

I received a call a couple of days ago from one of my AWESOME clients, Stephanie. She was calling to set up an appointment for some more family pics...She made a comment that she would be keeping me busy over the next few years (I didn't catch on... :). So, the next appointment I had available was in September. She said that would be fine, however, she would be a little chubby by then. WOW, it hit me. Her and her wonderful hubby, Juan, are expecting after 10 years. Congratulations, Stephanie and Juan. I am SOOOOO happy for you. GOD is so Awesome :)

I went out a few days ago to shoot some pics at the barn. I have heard that it will be torn down anyday, I will cry when it is gone :(. It has been such a great place for photos!

We had such a blast, playing ring around the rosey, doing the chicken dance (even I did it, too), just a wonderful, beautiful day! Here a few of the pics (others are on the website). Well, gotta go do some painting now. Keep on Smiling!
